Privacy

Your data, plainly.

We collect as little as we can, and only when you give it to us.

Who we are

digitaltwin.org.uk is run by Mark Maynard through Mayn Limited, registered in England and Wales, company no. 07609652. Contact: [email protected].

The Reaction (weekly email)

  • What we keep: your email address, the wording you agreed to, when you signed up, confirmed or unsubscribed, and whether each weekly email was sent to you.
  • Why: to send you The Reaction once a week. Nothing else, and never sold or shared for marketing.
  • On what basis: your consent. You confirm it by email first, and you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • How long: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your address marked “unsubscribed” only so we never email you again by mistake. Ask us and we’ll delete it entirely.

Responses to papers, and messages

  • What we keep: what you send through a Respond form or write to us: your name, email, role or organisation, profile link, the short note about you and your response.
  • Why: to read it, reply, and, only if you tick the box, publish your response with your name and role on this site and in future editions of the book.
  • Where it goes: our own system, a notification to Mark (Telegram), and our customer records (HubSpot). To help Mark reply, an AI service drafts a suggested answer from your first name and message only, never your email address or organisation; nothing is sent unless Mark approves it. If you name an organisation, we may check it against the public Companies House register.
  • Remember me: if you tick it, your details are kept in your own browser to fill in the form next time. We don’t receive that copy; send the form with the box unticked to clear it.

Visits

We count visits without cookies: the pages read and for how long, the site you came from, the language of the page and your rough location (country, sometimes city) from our network provider. A random number links the events of one page view and is forgotten when you leave the page. Your IP address is not stored. Visit records are deleted after 90 days.

Analytics

Google Analytics cookies count visits and show which pages are useful. Nothing is set unless you press Accept on the cookie notice.

Who handles it for us

  • SMTP2GO: delivers our emails.
  • Cloudflare: carries traffic to the site and protects it.
  • HubSpot: our customer records, for responses and messages.
  • Telegram: notifications to Mark about responses and messages.
  • OpenRouter, and the AI model provider it routes to: drafts suggested replies (first name and message only).
  • Google: analytics, only if you accept.
  • Our hosting provider, which runs the server the site and its data live on.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email [email protected]. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk.
